This decides how the shirt reads from across the room.

Some prints are pure art. Psychedelic Art has no words at all: a lone figure on a glowing path under a sky of neon swirls, with one huge blue eye in the middle. Trippy Monkey is a monkey in pink sunglasses and big headphones on a wall of graffiti and paint drips, also with no text.

Others carry a line. That Wasn't a Microdose stacks tiki faces under an all-seeing eye, and the words do the joking for you. Night Owl has a third-eyed owl on a lightning bolt, with SLEEP IS A RUMOUR in small type at the bottom.

A slogan tee starts conversations. A pure art tee is easier to wear to more places, including dinner with your parents.

How big is the print?

Big. Every trippy design we sell is a front print, and most are about 10 inches wide and 14 to 16 inches tall, so the art fills the chest. Time Is Soft, a melting hourglass with a planet in the top bulb, is 10.4 by about 15.5 inches. If you want something smaller, That Wasn't a Microdose is the narrow one at 7.5 inches wide. • Oversized, $39.99. Printful's Bella+Canvas 3010: 6 oz cotton, dropped shoulders, wide and boxy through the body, XS to 3XL. It hangs loose over jeans or cargos, which is the streetwear look most guys mean when they say oversized. Every trippy design comes in this fit.

On an oversized tee, buy your usual size, since the room is already in the cut. In a size M our oversized tee is about 1 inch wider and 1 inch shorter than the regular M. Which color makes a trippy print pop?

Black, most of the time. Neon pinks, purples and greens look deeper on a dark tee, and most of our trippy designs come in Black.

There are exceptions. Trippy Monkey also comes in White, which suits its loud paint splashes. Next Stop Saturn, a painted bus rolling past Saturn, comes in Natural if you want it softer, and in Forest green. Look at the photo of the exact color on the product page before you buy.

Where do you wear one?
